Fallen Tree Halts Tram Traffic in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen for Hours

In Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen, a fallen tree brought tram traffic to a standstill for hours. Several trams had to be towed.

A fallen tree has caused chaos on the rails in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt. According to the fire brigade, he fell into a tram overhead line around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday evening, which is why it could no longer be supplied with electricity.

Three trams had to be towed away by the emergency services, and tram traffic came to a standstill for several hours. Luckily nobody was injured. The route was cleared with the help of a chainsaw – the affected area is being supplied with electricity again. It is not yet clear why the tree fell into the overhead line.
