Taking the industry out of the blue, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout It was the great surprise of the summer thanks to his proposal that has entertained millions of players. Of course, at this moment everything is happiness for Mediatonic, Devolver Digital, the players and the sector, except for 10 companies that surely must be sorry after having rejected the game a couple of years ago.

As part of the success of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, Heff Tanto, creative director of Mediatonic, dedicated some publications on his Twitter account to publicize the history of the game, which arose from a brainstorm in which they decided to combine elements of the Battle Royale, challenges in terms of physics movement and challenges inspired by the TV show Takeshi’s Castle. Curiously, the idea of making a pitched battle game raised doubts at the beginning, as it was 2018, Fortnite He was already the king and the team thought that by 2020 the industry would be saturated with these types of games.

Fortunately, the team continued with their plans and Tanton made the proposal to the head of Mediatonic and after approval began work on the game that was then called Fool’s Gauntlet, although it later changed to Stumble Chums. With the concept defined and a preview to show, Mediatonic attended GDC 2018, where they sought support by presenting the project to 10 companies, but none of them were interested. However, their last meeting, with Devolver Digital, was fruitful and the company decided to venture with this game, so 6 months after that meeting it began its official development and the rest is history.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available on PS4 and PC. In this link you will find all the information related to the success of the moment.
