TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Senior economist from the University of Indonesia Faisal Basri highlight conflicts of interest in the current government. According to him, the current situation is critical.
“Oligarchy It’s actually similar to an evil coalition, isn’t it? Now, if the evil coalition does not last, they will open up to each other because the distribution is not evenly distributed, KPK friends know that usually they cannot report,” said Faisal Basri in a webinar, Saturday, January 29, 2022.
He predicts that currently the parties in the oligarchy are in an open-ended phase and will open up ulcers to each other. “I predict that by 2024 this government will morally collapse because the majority of the elite can no longer be covered up, carry out scandals and the scandal will get bigger,” he said.
In the end, said Faisal, the people will know the scandals or questions that exist. Therefore, he felt that the process for the public to know the issue should be expedited. “So that the people’s resistance really materializes.”
Previously, Faisal Basri reminded that conflict of interest what is dangerous is when state officials go into business.
As a result, countries and markets collaborate and the boundaries are blurred or biased. “So this is what is happening in Indonesia. In fact, it is getting stronger state and market this communitywas harmed,” said Faisal.
He saw that the power of the state and corporations in Indonesia had merged. Thus, the country has the potential to become despotic leviathan, namely a despot who has extraordinary power.
