According to the Bucharest-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, there are 276 passengers who were evacuated through the tunnel to Basarab station, over a distance of about 200 meters.

The subway train stopped on Tuesday morning between Basarab and Griviţa stations, and forces from the Special Rescue Detachment, two SMURD ambulances, four fire trucks and Metrorex rescuers were mobilized on the spot, according to ISU, quoted by Agerpres. No one was injured and the line was disconnected from electricity.

Metrorex says there was a breakdown on the train on Highway 4 between Grivita and Basarab metro stations, and passengers on the train were notified, being disembarked through the tunnel “safely and guided to continue the journey”.
