Fae Farm studio fires 34 workers

The year 2023 is being very difficult for workers in the video game industry, with several layoffs in the most diverse studios.

Phoenix Labs is one such studio, and this week saw a second round of layoffs, as reported by several former employees on LinkedIn.

A studio representative confirmed these cuts to GamesIndustry.biz.

“After rigorous analysis, we have made the decision to change the structure of our support teams and have made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by a total of 34 people across our publishing, HR, IT and shared services teams.” , said the representative.

Fortunately, the Fae Farm DLC and Dauntless updates were not affected by this decision:

“Our games teams have not been affected and work continues on our titles at Phoenix Labs. The Fae Farm DLC and Dauntless updates are on track, and we have exciting unannounced projects in the works.

“We are grateful to each of the affected team members who helped build Phoenix Labs into what it is today. Its impact will be felt and live on through everything the studio does in the future.”
