Facebook sends users a notification if they use a login for third-party apps – IT Pro – News

Facebook announces a new login function, which, according to the company, gives users more control over their information. If they use their Facebook login data to log in to third-party apps, Facebook will send users a notification.

Facebook has given this option the name Login Notifications. As soon as a user uses his Facebook login for an app outside of Facebook, a notification will follow via the Facebook app and the user’s email address.

This notification states what information Facebook has shared with the app or website, such as an email address, name or profile photo. Users can also directly adjust their settings via the Facebook notification, so that the permission of the app to obtain this data is blocked.

The notification appears in two situations: if a user logs in to a third-party app via Facebook and this app has given access to his information, but also after a user logs in again to an app with his Facebook login data, while the app is currently no longer has access to personal information.
