‘Facebook employees did not enter the office’ | Abroad

According to the newspaper, there were serious problems with Facebook’s internal systems. An internal memo would speak of “a system outage affecting all internal Facebook systems.” Even the access passes to the Facebook offices wouldn’t work, leaving employees unable to work to repair the chaos.

Also, according to the NY Times, there are reports of employees unable to use their work phones and receive email from people outside their own company. The internal communication platform Workplace would also have been down, causing employees to try to find each other via LinkedIn, Zoom and other chat rooms.

A small team is said to have worked at a data center in Santa Clara, California, to ‘manually reset’ the crashed system.

Due to the malfunction at Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram also did not work.
