According to press reports, the prominent Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has officially announced the departure of Welshman Lee Congerton from his position as sporting director at the Italian club Atalanta, by mutual agreement with the club.
According to Romano, Congerton is preparing for a new experience in the Saudi Professional League, as he is expected to join Al-Ahly Al-Gharbi Club in the coming days to occupy the position of sporting director.

Reports added that Mr. Ron Gurley, CEO of Al-Ahly Club, has chosen Congerton to be the club’s sporting director, and Congerton is expected to receive an annual salary of $3 million, making him one of the most important signings made by the club in recent years.
