F1 calendar 2022: Imola replaces China, Zandvoort on September 4 | Motorsport

sport">The race on the Shanghai International Circuit will be replaced by a race in Imola, Italy. That circuit was also on the calendar last and this season because of the corona crisis.

sport">Due to the pandemic, it is not possible for Formula 1 to go to China for the third year in a row. The Olympic Winter Games will be held in Beijing in February, although there will be no foreign fans and the rules will be very strict.

23 races and Zandvoort

sport">The race at Imola will be the fourth of the 2022 season, likely on April 24. The kick-off will be on March 20 in Bahrain, followed by races in Saudi Arabia and – for now at least – Australia. The first race will be held in Miami at the beginning of May.

sport">The provisional list includes a record number of 23 races, after the total of 22 races this year. As previously reported, the Grand Prix of the Netherlands will be held on September 4 next year.
