The career of the Slovak hockey forward Rastislav Gašpar will continue in the extra-league club HC ´05 Banská Bystrica.
The offspring of the club returned to Urpin after eight years. The club announced the new acquisition on the official website.
“Already during the playoffs, I accidentally met the sports manager Michal Hudec. At that time, he did not know that he would be the manager of Bystrice. I told him that as soon as the continuation in Bratislava fell, I was behind Bystrica, and we waited until the end of May for my option, which was not exercised, so we called and we agreed.
I want to enjoy it in the first place, but it is a return after several seasons. I want to show what’s in me and show everyone that I can play hockey. I see that a good team has come together here, so I believe that our goals will be as high as possible. “ Gašpar remarked for the club page.
In the 2021/2022 season, he enjoyed the championship title in the Slovan Bratislava jersey, but his health problems affected the year. He played a total of 39 matches, in which he scored 22 Canadian points (9 + 13). He also wore Detva and Skalice jerseys in the highest Slovak competition.
