Exseremi Announces Jackson’s ‘No Apology’ Lawsuit For His Firing | National

“In the absence of a public apology from Minister Giorgio Jackson, I will be forced to initiate legal action,” former Seremi Patricia Hidalgo said after a statement from MIDESO. In that text it is said that the authority was disconnected for not having filed a complaint for the alleged rape of a girl in a structure for assistance to people in street situations, which Hidalgo denies.

This was assured by the former secretary of social development of the metropolitan region, Patricia Hidalgo She will file a lawsuit if Minister Giorgio Jackson does not apologize publicly.

It all dates back to November 30, when the government announced Hidalgo’s departure. Although the reasons were not known, in an interview with Radio Bío Bío, he assured that La Moneda made this decision by not following the instructions on how to vote on projects that he did not want to approve.

Specifically, the initiatives in question were the Vivo de Ñuñoa Shopping Center, section 2 of the Vespucio Norte highway and a water treatment plant in Quilicura.

Following the statements of the former authority, the Ministry of Social Development (MIDESO) released a statement to present its version of the matter.

According to the text, Hidalgo was dismissed from her duties due to mistrust, since she would not press charges for the alleged rape of a girl in a shelter for the homeless.

For this reason, it considered that a statement of assessment of any administrative responsibilities had also been filed and a complaint was presented to the Public Prosecutor.

Subsequently, the same portfolio minister, Giorgio Jackson, stated this in Meganoticias “Given that several untrue speculations are circulating, what happened is that since the people involved in the alleged crime had graduated from street programs, i.e. they were no longer in the residence when she visited them, she (Hidalgo) formally ignored the question.

Exseremi announces legal action if Jackson doesn’t apologize

Soon after, the former seremi indicates that Jackson summoned her to his office on Nov. 30 to tell her there was a “lack of trust,” but one not related to the alleged violation described by MIDESO.

“It was a ‘bad evaluation’ due to my differences with Undersecretary Francisca Perales and Presidential Delegate Constanza Martínez, because they had differences and did not respect their authority to approve or reject projects in the Evaluation Commission of the RM”he detailed.

In this sense, he assures that “no other fact has been mentioned. This is why I am surprised that the statement mentions other facts that have never been made explicit to me and which, moreover, insult me for no reason, such as the failure to report a crime”.

According to his version, he learned of the events a week after they occurred, since then “They allegedly took place in a hostel for migrant families which is managed directly by MIDESO, under the administrative supervision of undersecretary Francisca Perales”.

“Notwithstanding the above, when finally, a week after being informed and belatedly learning of this complaint, the first thing I made sure was to verify that the complaints had been made, receiving an affirmative response,” he added. .

In the end, he kept it In the absence of a public apology from Minister Giorgio Jackson, she will be “forced to initiate legal action to restore my honor and dignity.”
