For 4.2 million euros, the Lieldienu sala property belonging to former premier Māris Gailis, located in Kaltene, Talsi district, was put up for sale, as reported in the material by Paula Ivanova, Juris Vaidakova “Exclusive Easter Island is for sale again” in the publication “Kas Jauns”.
Easter Island, known throughout the world as an architectural gem, was put up for sale in 2017. Over the years, no buyers have been found for the unique property, which was once again put up for sale on the classifieds portal real estate city24.lv.
As Gailis himself explains, in fact the property has not been removed from the sale, there is simply no activity on the portal, no one has taken an interest yet.
Gailis and his wife live on Easter Island every week and find it wouldn’t be a shame to divorce if someone buys the property.
“We’ve been living there for 17 years. And it’s not like I’ll give it for nothing, I’ll get something. But the price is so high because it’s a very unusual project,” says Gailis.
