Exposed to the Delta Variant, IPB Chancellor: Covid-19 is not a myth, I was hit twice: Okezone Megapolitan

BOGOR – The Chancellor of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) University Arif Satria shared his testimony after being exposed again Covid-19. Where, the results of the genome sequencing of the virus in his body turned out to be a Delta variant.

Covid-19 is not a myth, but it is true. I feel I have been exposed to Covid-19 twice, even though I have been vaccinated twice. The results of genome sequencing, this time my virus is classified as a Delta variant,” said Arif Satria, in his statement, Thursday (8 /7/2021).

Then, Arif said that at that time he did an antigen swab and a PCR swab at the same time. The results of the antigen swab were negative, but 5 hours later the PCR swab results were positive.

“A negative antigen swab result does not mean that it is free from Covid-19, because the antigen swab may not be able to detect the Delta variant, especially when the number of viruses is not too much. In fact, there are experts who say that the Delta variant is sometimes not detected by PCR,” he explained.

“I was treated at the BMC Bogor Hospital for 10 days with a stable saturation condition of 94-99. I felt that my exposure to the Delta variant was heavier than last year’s exposure to Covid-19. However, the injection of encouragement from doctors, family and friends made me more excited to recover. Enthusiasm is the key word, “said Arif.

.

Currently, Arif has also been allowed to return to his home to recover after being treated at the hospital.

“Tranquility is half medicine and panic is half disease. The main source of peace is remembering Allah SWT. Building positive prejudices over this calamity is part of finding peace. The power of the mindset will help accelerate healing,” he concluded.
