Exploring Mars: Unveiling the Magnificence of the Labyrinth of Night

Scientists continue to passionately study the planet Mars, and each new study leads to exciting discoveries. One of the amazing places on Mars is the “Labyrinth of Night”, an area that attracts the attention of researchers with its mysterious shape and unique geology. The network showed what it looks like.

Writes about this Futurism.

The “Labyrinth of the Night” is a complex of intersecting canyons 1,200 kilometers long. This unique canyon system is surrounded by the largest volcanoes in the solar system, and its formation is associated with the activity of these volcanoes, which led to the stretching of the Martian crust and the formation of cracks billions of years ago.

Thanks to satellites orbiting the planet, scientists were able to capture stunning Martian landscapes. Please note, however, that portions of this video include computer graphics created from images of the region taken by the European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbiter, as well as existing topographic data.

It is noted that the dimensions of the “Labyrinth of the Night” are truly amazing. Some of the gorges in this canyon reach a width of up to 30 kilometers and a depth of up to 5 kilometers.

“Cursor” wrote earlier that scientists continue to study the surface of Mars, in particular its craters. To this end, in 2021, they sent NASA’s Perseverance rover to the Red Planet, which captured an unusual weather phenomenon on the planet.
