Experts Provide Assistance Saturdays in New York Area – NBC New York (47)

During tax season, different questions can arise about how to file taxes, the documents that should be considered and other doubts.

For this reason, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will begin to offer a special Saturday schedule in the next four months at Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) throughout the country.

Taxpayers may go to these centers during the dates chosen for the events and without the need for an appointment. Here, they will be able to receive help in person from IRS personnel. Normally, these centers are not open on Saturdays and people must make an appointment to receive services.

The special Saturday availability nationwide will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, on February 11, March 11, April 8 and May 13.

Note: Although tax return preparation is not a service offered at IRS TACs during regular business hours or during these Saturday hours, information on how to obtain free tax preparation services locally will be shared.

“These Saturday events are part of the additional steps the IRS is taking this year to make a difference for taxpayers,” said Doug O’Donnell, Acting IRS Commissioner. “IRS employees work hard making improvements throughout our operations to help people. These walk-in locations are critical, and funding from the Cut Inflation Act is allowing us to add more employees across the nation to help taxpayers this tax season and beyond. These special Saturday hours will help people get the services they need.”
