“Experience the Riches of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Mining Basin: Register for the Trail des Pyramides Noires”

Launched in 2014 in order to enhance the mining basin listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Trail des Pyramides Noires is a sporting race that offers new routes in the heart of the slag heaps with significant elevation changes.

Registrations for the race are limited for 2 reasons: to remain a race on a human scale and above all to preserve the natural space, the fauna and the flora.

In 2021, more than 1,453 people took the start to experience the “Trail des Pyramides Noires” and discover the landscape and cultural riches of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais mining basin and the reasons for its registration in 2012. on the UNESCO World Heritage List: the slag heaps of course, the mining towns, the headframes… but also the emblematic sites of the reconversion of the mining heritage.

This year, the Trail opens its registrations to 1,300 runners on the 4 leading trail formulas, 3 of which are qualifying races which allow runners to acquire points to be able to participate in the greatest trails on the planet such as the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc, the Templars in the Larzac or the Grand Raid in Reunion!

Registration prices range from €88 for the 110 km to €28 for the 22 km and Nordic walking.
