Experience the Outdoors with Lille Aventure Nature: Summer Activities in Lille for Residents

Lille Aventure Nature: A Summer Program for Lille Residents

As the summer season approaches, the city of Lille is launching its summer operation, Lille Aventure Nature, to provide a change of scenery for the half of Lille residents who do not go on vacation. From July 8 to August 18, Lille Aventure Nature will offer a variety of activities and attractions for everyone to enjoy.

One of the highlights of the program is the holiday village located near the Max Dormoy swimming pool, in the heart of the green space on Avenue Butin. This village will feature trampolines, a zip line, tobogganing, mini-golf, climbing, and many other outdoor activities, all free of charge. Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., make-up workshops will be open to everyone.

To add an educational aspect to the natural village, the city of Lille, in collaboration with the Red Cross, will set up a camp where participants can learn first aid gestures. This camp will be available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Most of the activities offered are accessible to people with motor, hearing, mental, or visual disabilities.

In addition to the holiday village, the city of Lille has made efforts to create new parks and green spaces throughout the city. The recently inaugurated gardens of the Pouponnière in the Wazemmes district and the square of Armentieres in the Vauban district are just a few examples of these new facilities. These initiatives are part of the city’s 90-hectare plan, which aims to reinforce the presence of plants and create islands of freshness throughout Lille. Furthermore, the city is launching an experiment in the Fives district, where there are currently few vegetated places.

Another exciting addition to Lille’s summer program is the swimming pool for only 1 euro. Whether you live in Lille, Hellemmes, or Lomme, you can access all Lille pools without proof of income. However, proof of address or the Lille & Moi pass will be required.

While Lille offers a range of summer activities within the city, it also continues its tradition of sending children to colonies throughout France. The city owns a forest estate near Phalempin, where it organizes 5-day camps under Tippies for children from Lille. These camps provide a change of scenery and nature activities for the children, allowing parents to keep their children close by. This year, 200 children will have the opportunity to attend summer camps for 10 days in Brittany, the Hautes-Alpes, Auvergne, Aisne, and Ardèche. These children, identified by National Education for their lack of learning, will participate in a program that combines leisure activities with refresher courses in subjects such as English, Math, French, and even swimming. The stay is completely free for families.

Furthermore, during the summer and the various activities offered to Lille children, English lessons will also be included in the program of Lille Aventure Nature.

With Lille Aventure Nature, the city of Lille aims to provide its residents with a memorable summer experience, filled with outdoor activities, educational opportunities, and a chance to enjoy the city’s green spaces. Whether it’s exploring the holiday village, learning first aid gestures, or attending summer camps, Lille residents can look forward to a summer filled with adventure and fun.
