If you want to get the peace light from Bethlehem, you can do so on Christmas Eve from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Park of Encounter (Stadtfriedhof Linz / St. Martin), in the Park of Remembrance (Urnenhain Urfahr) and at the Urnenhain Kleinmünchen.

The Linz lines are in use on December 24th until 7.30 p.m., after which operations will cease. The Saturday schedule applies on all lines on this day. The collective call taxi is already two hours earlier than usual: in the areas Linz-Nord and Linz-Süd the taxis leave from 6 p.m., in Linz-Mitte from 6.15 p.m. From December 28th up to and including January 5th, the holiday timetables apply to all tram lines and bus lines (11, 12, 19, 27, 33, 41, 43, 45 and 46).

Increased garbage collection

As the public transport pace slows down over the holidays, the amount of waste is expected to increase. That is why the Linz AG employees are more active around the holidays. The company asks for your understanding in advance that due to the Christmas holidays, the disposal days may be postponed and the bins will either be emptied on the normal collection days or one day earlier.

The four waste material collection centers are open during the Christmas holidays, but not on the holidays, on December 24th and 31st and on January 2nd. And even if many of the Christmas trees have not yet been cleaned up, there is already information on disposal: the Christmas trees will be picked up on 11, 18 and 25 January 2021 with seven vehicles.
