CREMONA – Skyrocketing gasoline prices. And even the Diesel is no longer convenient. In many points of sale even diesel is more expensive than petrol, despite the fact that the excise duty is lower. The increase in fuel prices now seems out of control: from hour to hour the managers are forced to excessively adjust the prices per liter. In the city, in some distributors, it reaches over 2 euros and 4 cents, even in self-service mode. A situation that worsened with the Russian-Ukrainian conflictbut that had already begun to reveal itself weeks ago.
The gas stations, the last links in the supply chain, are in difficulty, because the margins are identical, while the expenses such as commissions on electronic payment systems are getting higher and higher. And while the situation is already translating into protest for hauliers and fishing boats, the estimates on the long-term impact on the pockets of Italians are worrying.
