Noting that China was the first country to identify and largely defeat COVID-19, Dr G. Weerasinghe, secretary general of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, noted that China is providing technical assistance to other countries and actively supported the World Health Organization’s COVAX program, which aims to ensure equal access to vaccines for all participating countries.

The year 2021 also marks the 20th anniversary of China’s accession to the World Trade Organization.

Later this year, China will host the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15).
The holding of COP15 in China is a testament to the growing global recognition of the hard work of the CCP and the Chinese government in environmental protection, said Annerise Rodriguez, a Cuban expert on international issues.
Alexei Maslov, acting director of the Institute for Far Eastern Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, said he expected China to push for more positive changes in areas such as global warming and marine ecology.
