During one of the last editions of the Steam Next Festival, in the fall of 2023, there was a lot of talk about the Polish racing game JDM: Japanese Drift Master – its demo version rose to the top of the most frequently tested free samples. A few weeks ago it was removed from Steam, but the Gaming Factory studio announced today that we will have the opportunity to play his work for free before its premiere.

JDM: Rise of the Scorpion will be released in the summer – a prologue to the full version, which is a more developed form of the mentioned demo. We will be introduced to the story told by the game, getting to know one of the main characters – Hatori “Scorpion” Hasashi – through cutscenes reminiscent of the manga.

Apart from the plot about the birth of a local drifting legend, an attraction for players who have already played the JDM demo will also be the chance to visit previously inaccessible areas of the open world (enriched with a daily cycle and changing weather) and drive a new car – an unlicensed Nissan 350Z. Presumably, we will also have the chance to tune this car ourselves, improving its performance and modifying its appearance.

The full version of JDM is scheduled for release on PC by the end of the year. Console versions (for yet unspecified platforms) will be prepared later.
