The Emirates Dubai Sailing Grand Prix, presented by P&O Marinas, returns to Port Rashid from 9-10 December 2023, ahead of the biggest challenge with the inaugural Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sailing Grand Prix sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, from January 13 to 14, 2024, according to what was announced by the SailGP, which is considered one of the fastest growing sports series in the world.

Season 4 is set to be the league’s most exciting and comprehensive season yet, as the world’s most exciting water race returns to Dubai for its next stop on the event calendar.
This season of SailGP, ten national teams will compete, each on board identical F50 boats, all equipped for high-speed, high-tech racing.

Abu Dhabi’s historic Zayed Port will host the inaugural event in Abu Dhabi in partnership with Mubadala Investment Group, the global partner of the SailGP Series, and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, to move the series to a new location in the city.

The adrenaline-packed event saw a huge crowd in attendance for an exciting weekend of racing between the ten national teams – Australia, Canada, Rockwall Denmark, France, Germany, Emirates GBR, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and the United States – as they continue their battle for the championship trophy. .
The United States won by a large margin, while the Danish Rockwall team, led by Nikolai Sehested, and Australia, led by Tom Slingsby, competed for second and third places.

Strong competition from all ten countries is set to continue in the UAE.

Kyle Langford, from Team Australia SailGP, said: “We are very excited to be coming to Dubai. It was a great place last year, we had really nice flat water which is perfect for all the boats, the wind was 12 knots and we snuck away with a last minute victory on “British and French, so we’re really excited to be back.”
