Yandel’s new professional step

On Thursday (September 21), Yandel kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month festivities by hosting the lighting ceremony for New York’s Empire State Building and performing an intimate concert at the venue, where he made history as the first Latino to perform there. The milestone occurred immediately after the Puerto Rican artist signed with Warner Music Latina.

“Yandel’s iconic career has resonated with audiences around the world, and his influence on the music industry is undeniable,” Alejandro Duque, president of Warner Music Latina, said in a statement. “This collaboration represents a new chapter of innovation and creativity. “We are excited to work hand in hand with Yandel to bring his music to fans around the world.”

Roberto Andrade, managing director of Warner Music Latina, added: “Yandel is an artist who embodies both iconic status and avant-garde vision. At Warner Music Latin, we are extremely proud to join him in this new chapter of his career, contributing to his evolution alongside his dedicated and collaborative team.”

This same week, Yandel received two Latin Grammy nominations for “Yandel 150,” his collaboration with Feid: best urban fusion/performance and best urban song.

Shakira continues to give back to her land

This week, Shakira, the most recent cover of Billboard, announced that she and her Pies Descalzos Foundation inaugurated a new school in her native Barranquilla. According to her Instagram posts, El Colegio Nuevo Bosque will educate more than 1,000 children. “Thanks to our allies FC Barcelona Foundation, La Caixa LaSalle College Foundation, Mayor Pumarejo, Mayor of Barranquilla and the Ministry of Education for joining forces and betting on the future of Colombian children,” she said.

Latin Music Week warms up the engines

In other Latin Music Week news, Billboard unveiled the full 2023 conference schedule and En Vivo concert series during a press conference held on Wednesday (September 20) in Miami Beach. “We are very happy to be here again,” said Leila Cobo of Billboard. “Many people have been discovering Latin music for the first time in the last year, but in Billboard We have been part of its growth for more than 30 years. We can’t imagine anywhere else in the world but here to celebrate this fabulous event.”

The latest talent additions and the complete calendar of events were presented at the Faena Forum, where the mayor of Miami Beach, Dan Gelber, Valentina Bueno (director of the Fundación Con Cora de Karol G) and the artists Fonseca, Mike Bahía and Venecia were also present.

Maria Becerra reveals important collaboration

Maria Becerra caused a stir on social media on Friday (September 22) when she announced that her next collaboration will be with Enrique Iglesias. “Did someone say bachataaaaaa?” What a joy to be able to tell you about this fear that is coming, it couldn’t be with anyone other than Enrique Iglesias. How beautiful to be able to work together, how much I admire you,” she captioned her Instagram video, where she and the Spanish artist give each other a big hug.
