On the front of the Municipality of San Antonio, the National Civil Protection Fair was held, with the participation of 7 organizational institutions.
At the stands, the public was informed about the work done, the technology used and the emergency response.
In the activity organized by the Municipality, through the Disaster Risk Management Unit, demonstrations were carried out on how to act in emergency situations, an instance that aroused the interest of the participants at the fair.
In the activity, Mayor Costanza Lizana said that “today we commemorate the Civil Protection Day, which was October 10, and we are present at this fair together with the various entities and institutions of San Antonio with which we collaborate for the protection of the community in so that it has better living conditions in the face of various risks, disasters or adverse situations “.
For his part, Cristhian Guerra, director of the Directorate of Public Security of the Municipality of San Antonio, stressed that “we want the community to participate in these organizations that make themselves available to the residents of San Antonio for the care of people and also their goods, therefore, the call is to participate and take care of oneself ”.
Meanwhile, Juan Carlos Ortiz, head of the Disaster Risk Management Unit of the City of San Antonio, indicated that “it is important to recognize that when we talk about civil protection we are talking about the heterogeneous number of institutions operating in the prevention and community. of response, regional and national emergency, so it is very nice to recognize the work they do 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to protect people, above all ”.
Finally, Rodrigo Balbontín, national emergency manager of the NGO Civil Protection Chile, said that “the work done by the Municipality of San Antonio to unite various entities to provide more help and better service is very important”.
