Graz – For a long time after 1945, “grass had grown” in the truest sense of the word over the former Graz-Liebenau forced labor camp. During the Nazi era, the largest forced labor camp in Graz had up to 5,000 inmates. In 1947 more than 50 people who died there were exhumed. More are suspected. A targeted archaeological excavation is now taking place – among other things, shoes, porcelain, combs and medicine bottles have been found.
