Former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah alluded to Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Nurul Ghufron whose wealth increased dramatically during his tenure at the KPK. Ghufron explained that the increase in his wealth was due to several assets he had.
“I thank you for your attention and I am proud of the supervision and public control of the state apparatus. Hopefully it will be useful for maintaining the integrity of civil servants,” said Ghufron when confirmed regarding Febri Diansyah’s tweet, Thursday (2/12/2021).
Ghufron then explained the reason why his wealth increased during his tenure as KPK leader. He said his property went up because of the property he owned.
“I need to explain that my assets are mostly land and building properties that I buy from state auctions, usually for objects that have been auctioned to the 3rd or liquidation price. So the purchase price is relatively cheap, then I renovate and I make a house or boarding house, sometimes I sell it come back after renovations or sometimes I renovate for a boarding house business,” explained Ghufron.
Ghufron then said he had 3 boarding houses in Jember, East Java. He said the increase in the amount of assets he reported in LHKPN was in accordance with the property business he owned.
“I’m in Jember, I have 3 boarding houses with a total of about 70 rooms, during this COVID period incomeit is relatively down, but in reporting the LHKPN, I report it not only as the market price of the house. However, I reported it as a boarding house whose value could be double the purchase price, so the increase in LHKPN was due to the adjustment in the value of the property,” he said.
Previously, Febri Diansyah questioned the increase in Ghufron’s wealth in this LHKPN data. Febri asked Ghufron to explain about this increase in wealth.
“Pak @Nurul_Ghufron, is this data correct and can it be explained? As part of the Prevention of Corruption, it is better for the KPK leadership to be an example of openness about the origin of wealth from legal income,” said Febri through his Twitter account, @febridiansyah, Thursday (2/12). ).
Febri Diansyah suspects that Ghufron’s wealth was not obtained from his salary at the KPK. He compared Gufron’s wealth when he was still the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Jember.
“If you look at the open data of the KPK e-lhkpn, when he was a Dean, @Nurul_Ghufron’s wealth totaled Rp 6.7 m. So far, since becoming a Dean and while serving as a KPK Chair, the total increase was Rp. 6.7 billion. My guess is, The addition is not only because of the salary at the KPK. But it could be other factors…” Febri continued.
Febri said that the increase in Nurul Ghufron’s wealth could be due to the increase in market value. However, he asked Ghufron to explain this.
