Evening of information and consultation on the development of a future natural park in Boucherville

Source: City of Boucherville

The City of Boucherville invites all citizens to participate in an information and consultative evening on the future development of a natural park to be built on the site of the former Rive-Sud or Landreville quarry (corner of rue d’Anjou and rue de Montbrun), on 29 November, at the town hall. The City wants to know the expectations and the point of view of the citizens before having a plan to develop the park.
Why participate?
Covering an area of 219,083 m², this space includes a body of water, perimeter wooded areas, a mound several meters high and a space that could house equipment for the population (e.g. service building, parking, playground, sports fields, etc.).
The possibilities being numerous, the Municipality wants to know how the main stakeholders want to exploit this place: what outdoor activities do they want to practice? By what means of transport do they intend to get there? The information and consultation evening on November 29 is the time for Boucherville residents to learn more about this green space and share their wishes. A concept will then be discussed and presented to the citizens.

context
The Sanexen company was commissioned by the owner of the former Rive-Sud quarry to rehabilitate this land, which will then be bequeathed to the Municipality of Boucherville. When the Municipality takes possession of the site, it is the city that will develop it according to the ideas received from the population.
For several years, the city of Boucherville has supervised the Sanexen company for the rehabilitation works of the site in order to minimize the impact of the works on the nearby population.
