Also, the Amicale for the voluntary donation of blood of La Charité-sur-Loire continues to organize its regular collections with just a change of location. Last Tuesday, the village hall of La Chapelle-Montlinard was transformed, for an afternoon, into a collection space, that of La Charité being mobilized as a vaccination center.
Appeal to young people
Reinforced health precautions, making an appointment upstream, this did not prevent the arrival of about fifty donors, the maximum number of samples possible in the allotted time.
Nine beds, three nurses and the staff of the Blood Establishment, a cozy atmosphere, serious but friendly, everything finally went very well despite the change of location and the circumstances. “It is important to point out that even if you have just been vaccinated against Covid-19, you can donate blood immediately without any problem. In addition, collections organized by local associations are even more essential at this time. We appeal to young people. Let them not hesitate to come, because we can no longer go to schools, ”insists Doctor Clavelier, one of the doctors present on site. Which reminds you that you can be a donor from 18 years old and up to 70 years old.
In fluidity, the volunteers follow one another. “I’ve been giving regularly four times a year since I was 18. Here or at the office, because where I am, it’s a need, ”explains Martine, who came from Herry. Carrier of a rare group, B, her four children with the even rarer AB + group do like their mother, who was trained to donate blood thanks to her father, a firefighter.
The volunteers of the friendly are there too, loyal to the post. “Fortunately we have this large room where the next collections will take place, as long as the one in La Charité-sur-Loire is unavailable. It is going very well, we even added a collection in July, ”explains Emmanuel Marion, president of the charity association.
