The Dukla Trenčín hockey club has an interesting reinforcement from the Czech Republic. Experienced forward Radek Duda, who recently celebrated his 43rd birthday, arrives there.
The people of Trenčín have agreed on a contract with the former Czech national team by the end of this season. “Radek took a look at our home match against Slovan Bratislava on Friday, where our fans showed him an amazing atmosphere. He has joined the training process today and will start the home match against HC Prešov tomorrow, ” informed the Facebook profile of Dukla Trenčín.
Radek Duda is an extremely experienced striker, who is accompanied by a rich hockey career, during which he won a medal set in the highest Czech competition in the Slavia Prague, Sparta Prague and Pilsen jerseys. He originally ended his career before the 2020/2021 season and started working as a youth scout and hockey skills coach in Liberec.
Before the current season, however, he also returned to an active career, playing 15 matches in the second-league Czech team HC Benátky nad Jizerou with 13 points for 7 goals and 6 assists.

“I think that even at the age of 43, Radek still has something to give us. He’s a player I know personally. He is a leader, he will benefit the cabin. He knows how to drive players and the team and change the momentum in the match. After talking to him, it turned out that he has a great appetite for hockey and is hungry for the game. I believe it will help us, ” Dukla Trenčín, sports manager, said Branko Radivojevič on the club website.
Dukla Trenčín is still an unpleasant surprise of the current extra-league season. The team from one of the bastions of Slovak hockey is on the ninth place of the extra-league table with a gain of 48 points out of 38 matches. The head coach was also replaced in Trenčín during the season; at the beginning of December, Ján Pardavý was removed, who was later replaced by Finn Tero Lehterä.
