How necessary were the school closures to fight the pandemic, how important was the home office, and did it really help that people were forced to wear masks? These questions should be asked on behalf of the Bundestag and the Federal Government Committee of Experts clear up. Last week, one of the best-known members left the committee, the virologist Christian Drosten from the Berlin Charité. Now it is said that he, like Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD), wanted to block the work of the committee because it could expose his recommendations as wrong.
