Eva Pilarová liked to spend time at her cottage in Českolipska. This place became her haven for rest and was very important to her. The cottage, originally an old farmhouse, has been transformed into a cozy dwelling with a characteristic wooden barn.
In his refuge in the Czech countryside Eva Pilarová she was looking for peace and regularly went there to draw energy. Her cottage, converted from an old farmhouse, boasted a wooden barn and was located in the picturesque region of Českolipska. This place became a key refuge for the singer for rest and regeneration.

The construction fascinated her
Eva Pilarová originally owned a barn in the village, which she used as a summer cottage. One day, while she was there, a local gamekeeper stopped by and showed her an old farmhouse surrounded by a beautiful orchard from the hill. And the singer immediately fell in love with the building.
In May 1968, without much insight into the purchase of real estate, Pilarová therefore decided to purchase the farm.
Despite her demanding work pace and numerous concert commitments, over time the cottage became a place where she spent more and more time. The structure, whose wooden barn dates back to 1758, is a rare gem with a rich history. The old linden tree, which has stood in front of the house for more than two centuries, gives the place a feeling of permanence and tranquility.
Beautiful interior
The interior of the cottage was carefully maintained and reflected the singer’s aesthetics and taste. The kitchen has remained true to its original design with the original oven. Eva Pilarová then added modern elements such as a microwave oven and an electric stove. The cottage was furnished with love for detail, which was also reflected in small decorations such as holy pictures.

Eva Pilarová created the cottage into a place that carried a fairy-tale atmosphere. All pieces of furniture have been carefully selected to create a space for peace and well-being. The cottage was set on extensive grounds with its own yard and was a fine example of traditional country architecture.
The interior of the house was the heart of the cottage, especially the kitchen with its historic sideboard and ancient service. The singer loved the place so much that she thought about settling in the former farmhouse permanently at the end of her life.
High maintenance house
Despite some disadvantages, such as the necessity of heating even in the summer because of the stone walls, the cottage was for Pilar a place where she found joy and peace. The exterior was decorated with an old picket fence with painted cups, which gave the house a nostalgic touch. Pilar was never alone here, she was accompanied not only by her husband, but also by the local forest animals that she often met during her walks.

The cottage thus remained not only a witness to her artistic life, but also a refuge for personal peace and inspiration. And it continues to inspire.
