Eva Jinek is pregnant: ‘So nice that Pax will soon have someone to grow up with’ | show

Eva Jinek is expecting her second child. The 44-year-old presenter surprised her followers on Instagram with this happy news on Friday.

“So nice that Pax will soon have someone to grow up with,” writes Eva with a childhood photo of her and her brother Jan, supplemented with the hashtag Jinekbaby2. Underneath that photo she is showered with congratulations, including well-known mothers such as Roxeanne Hazes, Vivienne van den Assem, Kim Kötter and of course best friend Merel Westrik. She receives three hearts from Freek Vonk, with whom Eva was together for more than two years eight years ago. ‘Omgggg congratulations lisjyyy!!!’ he sends.

In 2016, Eva Jinek got into a relationship with producer Dexter van der Voorn, whom she met while filming her documentaries in the United States. Eva was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her Czech parents decided to move to the Netherlands when she turned 11, because they wanted her and her brother Jan to grow up in Europe.

Unplanned caesarean section

Despite the fact that Eva had not suffered from rattling ovaries for a long time, she revealed in March 2018 that she had been doing ‘duo presentation’ for months. Son Pax Valentijn was born on September 6. In her own show, the presenter looked back on childbirth and the time after. Eva gave birth at 39 weeks via an unplanned caesarean section, a major abdominal operation after which she could hardly walk and lift her baby for weeks.

“I felt bad at the time, very bad. I can also think rationally, but that decreases during such a period. I knew I still had four months until my work would start again. I thought: I will never be the same again, I can never perform that way or physically deliver that performance. I felt very unhappy about that.”

Not a big pink cloud

In the Videoland series The world of Eve Last year, Eva talked to experts, medical specialists and parents about what motherhood really means. It is not a big pink cloud and we don’t talk about it enough, she thinks.

Pax, of whom no pictures can be found on social media, is raised multilingually: grandpa and grandma talk to him in Czech, Eva communicates in English and when the family is together, Dutch is spoken. About the fact that Pax is often with his father during her ‘talk show weeks’, she previously said: ,,It’s great to see Dexter as a father. So devoted, sweet, gentle. When I first went back to work after Pax was born, our baby was very dependent on him. Logical, because they were together a lot, but sometimes I really didn’t like that. Then I was the one who came to cut the meat on Sunday.”
