European Tour 2020 in Atzenbrugg und Adamstal

The European Tour is making a comeback a full 133 days after Spaniard Jorge Campillo pocketed the ball at the Qatar Masters in Doha in the international golf scene in 2020.

In between there was a standstill, caused by the unfortunate Covid-19 virus, which unfortunately had spread worldwide and had paralyzed almost every sporting event there.

That the return of the European Tour from July 9th to 12th with the Austrian Open and a week later from July 15th to 18th with the EURAM Bank Open of all places in Austria, of all places, at the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg and the home of the GC Adamstal takes place, is an unbelievable appreciation of the local golf scene and is therefore the gratifying content of today’s press conference.

President Christian Guzy and Adamstal owner Franz Wittmann were the congenial pullers for this sensational deal from a red-white-red perspective. In intensive cooperation with Ali Al Khaffaf and the local golf association, the top-occupied tour was brought to the sporting region of Lower Austria for two events. Both tournaments are endowed with 500,000 euros in prize money and are part of the Challenge Tour in addition to the European Tour.

It should be said in advance that the two events are of course subject to strict conditions due to the prevailing coronal location, which are also strictly controlled. This affects athletes as well as journalists, who are likely to be admitted only in limited numbers.

The sports press service, responsible for the media distribution and support of the two golf highlights, may hereby ask you to also reproduce them appropriately in your media.
