European Sports Week #BeActive will start this week

The seventh year of the European Sports Week in Latvia will be celebrated with sports events, where everyone will be able to find a suitable physical activity, training or competition. It is important that all events are easily accessible and free of charge, so that everyone can participate, regardless of physical form, ability or ability.

The central event of the week is the planned hike on September 25 in the Vilkači forest near Āžu kalns on the Tukums side. All current information about the planned events, activities and registration is available at: www.beactive.lv.

Although European Sports Week is being celebrated across the continent from 23 to 30 September, the morning of September 17, with the optimism and energy of certified coach Jānis Freimanis, began #BeActive morning activities two weeks marathon. The online sports forum SportsComm ’21: Opportunities, Challenges and the Future of e-Sports will take place on 23 September. Led by moderator Kristaps Tālbergs, various experts and guests from abroad will evaluate the development, opportunities and challenges of e-sports. The seminar will be attended by: President of the Latvian Sports Federation Council Einars Fogelis, Rimi Riga Marathon Director Aigars Nords, representatives of the Latvian Basketball Union Edgars Šneps and Kalvis Kovaļevs, President of the Estonian e-Sports Federation Ignat Bobrovich, Deputy State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science, Sports Department Director Edgars Severs, Renārs Krīgers, Head of the Marketing Department of the Latvian Football Federation, Mārtiņš Lazdovskis, Vice-President of the Latvian Sports Federation Council and many others. It is important for orienteering fans, athletes and their supporters to know that on September 25 in 15 different Latvian cities: Riga, Saldus, Liepaja, Daugavpils, Sigulda, Talsi, Valmiera, Rezekne, Salaspils, Vecumnieki, Cesis, Ikšķile, Saulkrasti, Ādaži and Pļaviņas. The central event of the European Sports Week – hiking, this year will take place on September 25 in Tukums. Its philosophy is still the same – spending sports time in the fresh air with friends, family or co-workers. Each participant will be able to choose one of three distances – 7.14 or 22 kilometers long, while the bravest will have access to a 7-kilometer-long night section supplemented with various surprises. Proponents of a healthy and active lifestyle will also be able to test their abilities in night swimming, which will take place this year on September 25 in RTU Ķīpsala swimming pool and Sigulda Sports Center. According to the organizers of the event Night Swimming 2021, within the event, participants participate in a half-hour (30 min) swim, during which they try to swim as much distance as possible in a freely chosen swimming style, way and pace.
