European Leaders Slam Trump’s Comments on NATO’s Security Commitment
Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments downplaying the United States’ commitment to NATO’s security umbrella in Europe have drawn sharp criticism from European leaders. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and other European defense and foreign ministers joined the chorus of disapproval on February 12, expressing their concerns over Trump’s remarks.
