Hamburg – At the European Handball Championship 2024 (EM 2024) have in the Main round group II (HRG II) the three games of the first match day took place in the Barclays Arena in Hamburg. Two teams each without losing a point and gaining a point

In the first match of the day, Group D runners-up Norway met Group F runners-up Portugal. Here Portugal prevailed with 37:32 and secured their first main round victory.
The second game was all about the favorites Denmark, the winner of Group F. After an even first half, the Scandinavians defeated the Netherlands with a 7-0 spurt in the second 30 minutes, confidently with 39:27 and thus consolidated their position the table lead.
