Austria belongs to the so-called net payers and, together with Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands have long advocated that the contribution to the EU budget remains at one percent of economic output. In addition to the proposal of EU Commission over 1.114 percent of the respective economic output and the demand of the EU Parliament Over 1.3 percent there has been a new figure since last year: to pay 1.07 percent of GNI into the EU budget. Had this idea Finland presented during his presidency, but so far no agreement has been reached.
