Essent will adjust energy bill next year: €17.50 per month up | Financial

Essent will adjust the variable rate for electricity and gas on 1 January. Customers with a contract with variable rates then pay EUR 1.11 per cubic meter for gas and EUR 0.2525 per kilowatt hour for electricity. With an average annual consumption of 1400 cubic meters of gas and 3000 kilowatt hours, this means 656 euros extra per year, according to the company.

The government will largely compensate for the increase in energy rates. As a result, a household with an average consumption will pay 446 euros less energy tax next year. As a result, Essent’s annual energy bill will increase on average by EUR 210.

“Essent does everything it can to keep customers’ energy bills affordable. By purchasing smartly, we are able to limit the increase in energy costs as much as possible for our customers with a variable rate”, says commercial director Boudewijn den Herder in an explanation.
