Two Bundesliga professionals made it into the ESM-Elf of December. One broke the threshold of ten votes. Four Madrilenians and four Milanese are there.

Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United and once again Bayern star Robert Lewandowski were very popular with ESM sports journalists in December. Both of them combined ten votes each and are clearly ahead of the other nine players in the selection at the end of the year. Lewandowski and Bruno Fernandes were already part of the ESM team in November, as was a third member: Atletico goalkeeper and Mr. Reliable Jan Oblak.
Also noticeable: The European football hot spots Milan and Madrid are well represented – four players each come from Spain’s capital and Italy’s fashion metropolis. Evenly divided between two Real and Atletico as well as two Milan and Inter.
While Bruno Fernandes is the only representative from the English Premier League, the Bundesliga has another player alongside Lewandowski: the Leipzig Dayot Upamecano.
