The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources provides an explanation of the BBM removal low octane number. This is expected to take place starting January 1, 2023.

However, the DJM Decree number 933.K / 10 / DJM.S / 2013 is declared invalid as of January 1, 2023. This is part of the reduction of carbon emissions by reducing the exhaust emissions of motor vehicles.
SK DJM was revoked via SK DJM No. 85.K / HK.02 / DJM / 2022 concerning the Revocation of the Decree of the General Director of Oil and Gas Number 933.K / 10 / DJM.S / 2013 regarding Standards and Quality (Specifications) Fuel Types of 88 gasoline marketed nationwide.

Furthermore, gasoline sold on the domestic market also refers to the DJM decree no. 110.K / MG.01 / DJM / 2022 relating to the standards and quality (specifications) of petrol fuel oils RON 91 and RON 95 marketed on the domestic market. Hence, SK DJM 0177.K / 10 / DJM.T / 2018 relating to the standards and quality (specifications) of 98 RON gasoline fuel oil marketed nationally.
Earlier, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif opened his voice on the elimination of non-environmentally friendly fuels. Arifin explained, currently car manufacturers have demanded the use of environmentally friendly fuel.
“Because this is what an auto manufacturer requires that its vehicles use environmentally friendly fuel,” he told the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Friday (9/16).
He added, if you don’t use eco-friendly fuel, you don’t get any warranty from the manufacturer.
“The requirement is that if you don’t use it to specification, there is no manufacturer’s warranty. That too has to be understood,” he said.
