Escobedo Awards “Guardians of Water”; 5 thousand participate in drawing contest

After raising awareness about water care in more than 20 schools with the Guardians of Water program, the Municipality of Escobedo closed the second phase of this campaign with the awarding of the best drawings on how to protect and ration the vital liquid, an activity in which Five thousand girls and boys participated.

It was in front of the Municipal Presidency where the 30 winning drawings were placed.

The Mayor of Escobedo, Andrés Mijes, recognized the successful girls and boys and recalled that the objective of the program is for minors to conserve the vital liquid and, at the same time, become axes of change with the people around them.

“Today we recognize many of you through your participation in the Guardians of Water program that the Ministry of Well-being, through the Directorate for the Promotion of Education, Culture and the Arts, has launched on school campuses. .

“The main and most important change is that Escobedo, Nuevo León and the world will have children and young people who will grow up with a culture of caring for water, protecting the environment and preserving natural resources,” he said.

Mijes added that there is still a shortage of water in the state, so they have to work on saving it.

“This situation has had us all very badly, but the most important thing is to act and find solutions.

“Boys, girls and young people are always the best at finding solutions and that is why we want them to continue being Guardians of Water.”

In addition to the drawing contest, with the Guardians of Water program, storytelling and other awareness dynamics were carried out in kindergartens and primary schools, mainly those located in sectors where there are more reports of misuse of the liquid.

The program is added to a series of actions and measures that the Municipality implemented in the face of the drought and shortage of water in the State, such as the installation of tanks in neighborhoods and the delivery of water tanks in educational establishments.
