(Netherlands – Denmark 4-2) Many were frightened when Christian Eriksen (30) had a cardiac arrest in the Park during this summer’s European Championships. Saturday night he made the national team comeback with scoring after two minutes.

“The story of Christian Eriksen is just getting more and more crazy, with each passing day,” writes Berlingske Tidende.
The midfielder was replaced for his first international match after the dramatic summer evening in Copenhagen last summer. Both players, coaches and the audience applauded Denmark’s number 10.
And one minute and 55 seconds, Eriksen beautifully reduced to 2-3 by squeezing the ball in the crossbar from 13-14 meters. It happened on his first touch.
– It was “okay”, it did. I know the stadium well, so I know well where it will sit, says Eriksen and smiles to Kanal 5.
“It is almost unbelievable,” writes Danish Ekstra Bladet.
Eriksen equaled Michael Laudrup, the nation’s best football player in history, with 37 goals for Denmark.
– It is clear and distinct that Eriksen’s qualities speak for themselves, says Pierre Emilie Højbjerg to Kanal 5.
– I am happy on behalf of Christians and the team that he is back.
According to the Dutch newspaper NOS, the Netherlands’ home supporters have never before applauded so heartily for a goal against their own team.
–Later in the match, Eriksen slammed the ball into the post with a long shot from 20 meters.
In the 70th minute, Steven Bergwijn put on a 4-2 for the Netherlands with a nice finish. It was also the end result.
At the break, the Netherlands led 3-1 after goals from Steven Bergwijn, Nathan Aké and Memphis Depay (penalty). Jannik Vestergaard scored the Danes’ goal when he equalized to 1-1.
Ahead of the national team gathering, he became infected with corona, but the 30-year-old managed to get ready to play in the settlement in Amsterdam on his old home field from his time in Ajax.
–The return came 287 days after the painful moment at home in the Park during the European Football Championship. Just before the break of the match against Finland, Eriksen collapsed cardiac arrest on the court. His life was saved by prompt medical attention.
A few days later, he underwent heart surgery and was discharged from Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.
Christian Eriksen signed this winter for English Brentford, and has three games from the start and one innings so far this season.
