Erika Vlieghe looks hopeful to 2022: “That virus will gradually control our lives less, and hopefully mine too”

2020 was a corona year, 2021 again. And as 2021 gives way to 2022, the fourth wave gives way to the fifth. Are we already entering a new corona year? “We should not talk ourselves into the depression by only talking about the next wave,” says infectious disease specialist Erika Vlieghe, who advises the government on corona. “We are gradually returning to normality: I look forward to that with optimism.”
