For the remainder of July and also for August -in addition to the expected fiestas– there are a dozen shows left to enjoy, in addition to two movie sessions in the squares. Added to this is one of the star activities of these dates in the town: canoe rides and paddle surfing on the estuary.

For fifteen years, the residents have been able to jump into the water of the estuary in canoes or paddle surfing – the latter is increasingly popular – during the weekends from June to September. It is also an activity that is free for those registered. The canoes are available in the mornings, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and can be used from the mouth of the Kadagua River to the Axpe dock. The paddle surf boards, meanwhile, have evening hours: from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and, in this case, you can walk along the estuary from the Rontegi bridge to the shipyard. Both modalities are open for users with little experience or for those who want to advance further. “We feel a lot of strength and we will continue with our goal of teaching how to row and observe the estuary in a different way,” says Fernando Recio, from the company that provides this aquatic service, which even during the pandemic continued to work hard so that the neighbors had this opportunity to enjoy. Recio also points out that when practicing this sport in Erandioztarras waters “you can see the industrial past of the municipality”.
