Eldar Sætre, CEO of Equinor, says that the company is in the process of streamlining, which will include downsizing in all business areas.
It’s in an interview with E24 in connection with the presentation of the result for the second quarter that Sætre confirms that Equinor is in the process of streamlining. The company is on schedule with an announced plan to cut costs by almost NOK 6.5 billion, and that the company’s controversial US operations in particular may be exposed to savings.
– In the US, activity is strongly affected. It is a demanding market. There we are making major adjustments and we must adjust the staff accordingly, says the Equinor manager.
Sætre says there must be a thorough and well-thought-out streamlining, with the shop stewards on the team. However, they do not yet have specific figures on how the downsizing will take place.
– No. The figures will probably be different in the various business areas, the CEO answers.
