To mark its tenth anniversary, the Firaisankina-Fitiavana-Fanantenana Marovatana (3FM) club wishes to create a rugby school in the commune of Ambohidratrimo. This project has been ongoing since the beginning of this year. But as a pilot club in the Marovatana section, President Harimanana Ramanantsoa and his team have above all prepared the ground. Just last Wednesday, they went down there to meet the students of Epp Antohibe whose goal is to arouse their interest and their passion for the oval ball. Around fifty pupils from the eighth and seventh grades have benefited from this discovery and initiation programme. They were supervised by the club’s technical managers and were able to enjoy the moment for a few hours. They were taught how to catch and carry the ball. They made the pass at ten and we deployed other methods to them to understand very quickly the basics of rugby. “This is our first step in setting up the 3FM rugby school, which we have already considered for a long time. We try to show children that rugby is not only a contact sport but also a life.
