Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphany admitted that he drives a car of the brand 2015 Audi A6. According to him, a clergyman cannot exist without a car, since, first of all, it is a means of transportation.
The head of the OCU told about this in the program “Rendezvous” on channel 5. He noted that a priest should be an example (to watch the video, scroll the news to the end).
“This luxury should be inherent in the clergy, because we must understand that on earth we are temporary, and did not come to collect earthly treasures,” Epiphanius said.
He stated that he had traveled before the coronavirus pandemic and had nearly 70 car trips. In addition, during the year, the head of the OCU visited almost every region two or three times.
“It is very difficult without a car. It should be, but not of the class that oligarchs drive. There is no such thing in the Orthodox Church, because oligarchs have never supported us. We have learned to survive,” Epiphanius summed up.
