Epic is asking the court to unlock Fortnite on iOS, which has lost 60% of its players

Who is winning in this dispute? It seems like Apple for now.

Epic Games has filed further documents with the court in which we can read that Apple’s actions have blocked the game for over 200 million people. In total, Epic was to lose 60% of players when it comes to the iOS platform.

As a reminder, players with Apple hardware can still play, but on version 13.40, the last one before Fortnite was removed from the App Store.

Epic asks the court to react

Epic asked the court for a response regarding Fortnite unlocking on Apple devices. The reason is the inability to play for over 210 million people. Epic is not afraid to admit that Fortnite has left 60% of iOS players.

The court has until September 28 to react, which is practically three weeks. Until then, however, another several dozen percent of the community may escape. For now, it seems that Apple is winning in this dispute and it is practically doing nothing. The company simply removed Epic with all their legacy and is waiting for a court ruling without losing too much. For Epic, it has a much stronger impact on both the income and the number of players.
