Entre Ríos Ministry of Health to hold external blood collection at San Blas hospital for Project Donar Sangre Nos Une

The Ministry of Health of Entre Ríos, through the Provincial Hemotherapy Program (PPH), will carry out this Thursday, April 13, an external and solidarity blood collection at the San Blas de Nogoyá hospital. The initiative is developed within the framework of the Project Donar Sangre Nos Une.

As is being done in different locations in the province of Entre Ríos, the Provincial Hemotherapy team with the mobile comprehensive health collective will arrive in the city to carry out said external blood collection.

The health truck will arrive at the San Blas hospital very early and from 7 a.m. the blood collection will begin for all the people who come by. It was recalled that it is not necessary to attend fasting, but it is necessary to avoid taking dairy products and having given blood within the previous 60 days.

The coordinator of the Program, Lucrecia Etcheverry, stated that “the blood bank needs to maintain a certain number of donors to supply the services, so people who are in good health need to come and collaborate.”

He added that “it is 15 or 20 minutes that can contribute to the lives of up to three people, and that this component is so necessary, that it allows to improve the health and quality of life of the residents of Entre Ríos who receive the treatments and hospital care that require transfusions. ”.

Is blood needed?

On the other hand, from the San Roque de Paraná Maternal and Child Hospital they invited to join the voluntary blood donation through a question: “Is blood needed? Of course. Always!” was the answer, because every day there are patients who require blood components for their treatments.

To sign up to be a donor, you can send a message via WhatsApp to 3435 07-4584, to the hospital’s Hemotherapy Service and from there they take care of advising and managing an appointment so that the donor can attend with complete peace of mind.

The hospital’s Hemotherapy Service receives all people willing to donate blood voluntarily. The voluntary and regular donor generates good habits to guarantee their health care; In addition, when donating blood every four or six months, he has the laboratory controls and the interview that the donation requires.

Replacement donation, on the other hand, is not a recommended practice: arriving donors may view blood donation as a necessary procedure so that a friend, family member or acquaintance can receive the care they require. This can lead to you feeling pressured or “directed” and not being entirely honest in the pre-interview, making it a dangerous transfusion.
