80% of French temporary workers would be ready to change temporary work agencies according to an iziwork survey

According to a study conducted by iziwork, the digital leader in temporary work, 80% of temporary workers in France would be ready to change temporary work agency, among them 35% would be ready to change immediately. This figure shows that the digital transformation of the temporary work sector can be an opportunity for temporary workers to regain control over their professional life, in a rapidly changing sector.

What temp workers want in 2022

According to the iziwork survey, approximately 50% of respondents are registered with more than one temp agency. These are registered on average with 2.4 temporary work agencies simultaneously, in order to maximize their chances of obtaining assignments in line with their aspirations. What motivates temporary workers to choose one temporary agency over another?

3 criteria appear in the Top 3 of respondents:

  • The frequency of missions is the reason most mentioned by respondents (25%).
  • The monitoring/responsiveness and efficiency of the agency is cited by 12% of temporary workers.
  • The relevance, quality and variety of assignments is cited as much as the responsiveness of staff (12%).

Temporary work mostly seen as a career springboard

For 35% of the temporary workers questioned, temporary work is seen as a professional springboard, and a means of gaining experience while waiting to find a more stable contract. This figure should be compared with the average age of temporary workers in France, 34% of whom are under 25 (source Observatoire de l’Intérim).

For 27% of respondents, temporary work is seen as a compromise, particularly in terms of flexibility between private and professional life in the short term.
